The oil doesn't spill all over the place it goes right to the bottom of the pan, (remove the large red circle) and drains nice and easy by removing the red cap.

This product leaks. Although a nice wide mouth for catching fluids, when the lid is tightly shut and the unit sitting upright, regardless of how tightly or how many times I might try to ensure the threads are aligned - oil leaks out the shiny red lid. Total mess, total waste of $$
