I have five Penn Mariner boat rods I use for fishing for large catfish. There is no better fishing rod available at that price and the quality is outstanding even though it was made in China.

Bought this rod about 2 weeks ago for a trip out of Channel Islands CA next week. I haven't used it yet but I have other Penn products and have never been disappointed. Fast delivery and received rod as described.

Purchased 2 of the Mariner II boat rods for my Penn reels as replacements for two well worn rods. Fit and finish seems good. Rods are light and have the right action for fishing on the Chesapeake Bay. I wish the reel lock down was more substantial.

Great rod for a great price. I wanted a one piece ocean rod to use for lake catfish and carp and this rod is just right. Great quality too.
