Used it in upstate ny for steelhead and browns. It was as smooth as I expected from an abu garcia reel,but what was really was about this reel was the drag. Buttery smooth with a big steelhead on the other end!!

The STX has a flawless drag and is very light weight. They are a great reel for trophy lake trout. I am a full time guide here in Granby Colorado. These reels stand up to all the harsh conditions the rockies, clients and lake trout can throw at them.
