This was a very fun project. We bought several kits for our friends' children and we all had fun on a Zoom call painting them together with parents. I would recommend your own glue, as some of the kids had glue that was dried inside their kits.

I selected this Made by Me Wooden Bird House Kit (With 3D Wooden Embellishments) for my son who loves to build things. He had an easy time assembling this bird house and painting it. The house is surprisingly sturdy and came out really cute. It would be a great gift!!
