The walkies are very colorful, which is what immediately captured my four year old nephew's attention. They are made of hard plastic and appear to be very durable. They fit easily into small hands and are easy enough for a four yr old to operate. Batteries are not included.

My kids from ages, 2-9 just have a blast with these! They are easy to use, have an "on" light indicator, a slide button on back to turn on or off, very good clarity, only drawback is no buttons to find a " lost" walkie and they don't reach far for use. Perfect and fun for kids.
