I have used Krups coffee makers for nearly 25 years. I had one identical to this one which "died" after two years...easier to just purchase another than go through sending it for evaluation a/o repair...at what cost!?! I think this was unusual as the others have "gone the distance" with no proble...

I found that the tapered filter design actually makes more coffee with less grounds than the flat bottom style filter.
