I bought these drapes because of a city street light outside of a window. The curtains blocked the light completely. The fabric looks beautiful. Unless you knew, the curtains do not have the appearance of blackout drapes.

I thought these would help reduce the sunlight - they are basically just like any other lined curtain when it comes to allowing light in the room. The look is nice, and we will probably keep them, but still woke up this morning to a room filled with sunlight.
