This tool is nice to look at, but I wouldn't recommend it in an emergency situation. I still can't get the tinder door open to put the tinder in, so you would never get it open with cold hands. The flashlight may help you find your way out of your tent, but that's about it.

Comical hunk of junk. You could start a fire with this rod of course. Don't plan on using the included tinder without having another tool. The flashlight never worked at all.

1. The screw head on the knife is cast too thick for the screws on the body 2. I can't figure out how to get the tinder box open. Been pressing the button on the handle to no avail. Tried prying open but that didn't work either. At a loss and the video did not help.

The clip screw cannot be tightened and is loose, so clip is loose. Knife comes dull. Could not open the tinder compartment. Just feels flimsy. Come on SOL, you do better than this. Light is weak. No mention anywhere I saw of what size or how many batteries - don't want to risk stripping the teeny...

Overall this is a very small compact multi-tool that is better off used for it's convenience. For the weekend warrior or as a novice adventurer it will start fires, has a nice flash light, signal whistle, & a handy little knife for small tasks. But by NO MEANS is it the kind of quality product th...
