What an awesome book! Not only was the story life-altering to my own Christianity, but it changed my political views about prisons and prisoners' rights. I always thought the term "born again" meant you had to be an ultra-freaky Jesus freak, but Colson's story changed my mind.

This is a powerful book that takes you deep in the inner workings of the white house like few books do. The candor with which Colson writes is great and gives the book an honest feel.

The personal testimony of conversion that spanned both a Reformed approach to politics in the seventies, and much of the modern missions to convicts.

Though I share neither Colson's faith nor his politics, this is a really great example of a personal redemptive memoir. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in the genre.
