Bought the 5000 size reel back in June. Spooled it with 500yds of 40 pound power pro. Just recently caught this 100 pound tarpon with it. Reel held up great.

This is a very good quality reel for the money! However it is a bit heavy for most fishing applications. Unless you are going for the big ones I would recommend that you purchase a smaller version of the very same Daiwa BG reel for a easier and lighter all day casting, fishing experience.

Seems to be a super smooth reel. Time will tell how long it lasts in the saltwater. if it's still this nice in 2 years, I'll definitely will buy more. Great deal and fast shipping allowed me to take it out yesterday. Happy, Happy, Happy !!!
