I very much enjoyed this biography of Helen Gurley Brown, and didn't mind the academic tone of it at all. It reminded me of why I loved Cosmopolitan in the late 60s - early 70s, and how much Helen Gurley Brown spoke for me as a working-class secretary, while the rest of the screeching sisterhood ...
