If the fixture has a deep socket, this control will not function correctly. The sensor will be inside the socket and the light will be on 24/7. Solution the shaft need to be 2-3 inches longer.

I agree with the other review posted. The "base" of the item was not long enough. If you have a shallow connection, with no over-hang, you should be fine. But too much of the light was covered by my particular fixture (a lamp post). Going with another "extended base" sensor.

This item works great. There is no need for using a analog timer switch to control the dusk to dawn light operation for porch lighting. This item ensure the porch lighting is auto turn on everyday at night-time.
