We've purchased several of these mattresses (different sizes/depths) and all are wonderful. This one was for our guest room (Queen size) and did not 'spring up' immediately after starting to cut the vacuum seal. The sides seem to be 'stuck' like being melded together when being cut, I suppose....

It's very firm but it contours to the shape of your body. I recommend not sleeping on it for 48 hours to let it breathe. I got a king size and it's sooooo heavy. Just a warning for anyone out there looking for a king. It is a great bed.
