we bought this for our son yesterday. Thomas went turbo for one lap, now crawls slower than his older train friends. I've looked for reviews, adjusted the turbo track settings, changed batteries (mind you this is less than 10 minutes of use with new batteries). I'd imagine its a fault...

Epic fail! We purchased all of the turnbo engines and the jungle set. After only severl laps the turbo left to never return again. If slow and steady wins the race, these are the trackmasters trains to buy.
