Thankfully Otterbox has something to protect the 7th gen iPad. Hopefully soon there will be a better selection. I am eagerly awaiting more colors or a defender type case

We haven't dropped it but it's sturdy and fits nice. We have everything in otter boxes and have never broken anything. Use only otter for max protection.

I bought this case about a month ago and I love it. Although I haven't yet dropped my iPad, I have no qualms about putting it in my bag because this case feels very well built. The pencil holder is very useful.
