I got this for my 3 year old and he loves it and should work for him for years. I chose this bike because the top bar has more of a slant than most of the others so it works better for him.

Great first bike for my 5yo. I looked for something with a low middle bar so he wouldnt hurt himself if he needed to jump off the seat. Great bike. Glad I got it on sale. Very sturdy. Much better than the Huffy cheaper one. But of course require tools and a little more effort to install.
