I purchased this to make my family homemade doughnuts. Temp is important. There is a range of 360°-375° to fry them. This thermometer MAY be 5° off reading it a little higher. However, unsure, as the doughnuts all cooked fine even when the temp changed up and down 5°. I just made sure it read 375...
