I purchased this stockpot with basket with the self-draining clip not even know that the clip was for. This feature, which I know now, is for draining pasta without having to carry the whole pot full of hot water and possibly getting burned.

I made my first gumbo in it. Love the strainer in it. Great when using a whole chicken to get your base and not having to worry about bones! Pot was great and the gumbo was delicious!
