Fan is solid metal and sits securely on its base. It has three speeds. Top speed is quite powerful, also loud. I'm pleased with the overall quality of the fan. Comes in handy in those spots where central a/c doesn't quite do the job.

We use this fan in our barn in the warmer weather. We sit it on the floor and aim it upwards towards the ceiling and it circulates the air very nicely. I like the base because you can also set it on a ledge or table if you want it up higher. I prefer this over a box fan.
