I pressed the button and it lights up. Too bad there is no way to replace the Battery. Hey, for $4.50 what else can you expect. Still a good deal for a little boy to whack his older brother with.

For $5, I can't complain. The foam did tear after my daughter used it as a walking stick and she peeled most of it off, but if used for the appropriate age group, they probably won't do that.
