Bought the black and orange velo for my 10 year old son. He loved the look and feel but after five hits in batting practice bat broke at the handle. This was with trademark up and on the sweet spot. Very disappointed.

Bought it for my 8 year old and one session and he says it hits and sounds great. Incidentally, make sure to teach the kids to hit 90 degrees off of the ring pattern or the bat will break (if you hit the bat against the wood ring pattern, any bat won't last 10 swings...lesson learned).

First bucket of balls I was very impressed. My 10 year old who normally uses composite, was really killing the baseball. Many solid hits and no vibrations. He says very balanced. Love the "crack" of a wood bat when hitten solid. So off we go to the "wood bat world series".
