The pole is solid, however, the reel is a poor design. The reel would bird nest and I never had that happen before. I would say purchase the pole by its self and get a good reel.

The rod has great action and is very flexible. I used to have a 5'6 rod and this one can definitely cast faster. The reel would bird nest until I took 10% of the line out.
