This backrest cushion is both supportive and soft. It is almost spongy/springy soft but has enough support as well. The outside fabric is super soft. I bought one for my daughter to use in her dorm, but I'm going to buy 2 more for her father and I for watching TV in bed! :)

I've had several of these over the years and they were all too hard. This one though is not hard it's very comfortable on the back
