A lot easier to use than chips. These chunks are fairly large and produce lots of smoke. You don't have to soak them but I still do for a few because when they're dry and tossed on the charcoal they tend to ignite. Either dry or soaked they produce a fair amount of smoke and last.

I used this product for cooking outside. Strangest thing happened. It caught on fire and made lots of smoke. When all was over, we tasted the food we cooked on the pit and it was delicious. Had a good smokey flavor. I still wonder what could have caused all that smoke?

Great product for smaller grills/smokers. There is an ideal mix of chunks and scrap shavings that make getting a fire going very easy with minimal effort. It produces good smoke and good heat in my medium smoker. Definitely recommend for smaller to medium sized smokers.
