PENN Fathom II Star Drag Conventional Reel, Size 15, Casting Special

I haven't fished with it yet but I've been casting it in the back yard . Cast ability is spot on and mag is spot on . Will update in a couple of weeks but I'm sure it will be good have a sqaull 15 and really like it

I've used this reel on about four long range fishing trips where several species of fish are targeted. My last trip south of the US Mexican border we fished for Wahoo. I used my Penn Fatham II 40NLD2 to throw wahoo bombs. The reel worked great and I caught three nice wahoo with it.

Its an amazing reel. Probably my favorite. The mag knob does rub my wrist the wrong way when Im laying line back to the spool while reeling in but I easily adjust the way I lay the line. The reel foot and clamp are a problem. They wont fit an Okuma Longitude surf rod. Planning to buy an Ocean ...

I recently purchased a Fathom 2 size 15 reel. The reel is being used for striped bass fishing and the fishing dont have a chance.. This machine casts better then the acurrate tern and is smooth. Penn is making some really nice gear. highly recommend

Had used this a few times now. Excellent casting and distance will get better after some dailing it in.
