I ordered the Deuville mantle unfinished.. It came in perfect shape and a day earlier than I was expecting it. Great service and product. Great experience overall. Unless we come across something unforeseen during installation, I would recommend this to anyone..

We are delighted with the mantel. We plan to paint it white to match the molding in the room. I suspect the wood would not take stain evenly. Prettier than I expected.

We bought the one that came pre-finished in the fruitwood tone. Everything about the mantel was high quality including the finish. If you are interested in a natural-wood finish it would not be worth your time to buy one unfinished and finish it yourself when the factory model is so finely finish...
