My wife's computer died. She had lots of data on the internal C drive she wanted. I purchased a new laptop for her. Then, I bought this product to connect her old c drive to the new laptop through the USB port. Product worked perfectly. Still using old c drive as her new external drive.

A friend of mine had his motherboard on his laptop crash. He needed to back up his SATA hard drive before sending back the laptop for repairs. With this adapter I was able to make a complete backup of his hard drive via USB. The adapter is easy to use and very versitile with multiple inputs.

Mother board failed. Bought new desktop. Was running Windows XP. Unfortunately Microsoft has discontinued supporting XP. Dealer installed Windows 7.0. HATE IT !!! Used the cable to run my old hard drive under XP. Computer dealer wasn't very helpful or useful.

This product was used after complete failure of my main desktop computer. After removing the data hard disk from my main computer, I was able to access all data and transfer to my backup computer.
