This strainer does a great job. It has drain holes on the entire piece, so water hardly ever backs up into the sink when the strainer has food stuff in it. It is really easy to clean out the contents. It fits perfectly in the sink drain space for it where a garbage disposal is used.

This works great as a strainer in the sink. It lays nicely, prevents clogs. Just to note, it does not serve as a plug to hold water in the sink.
