This pot is not only wider but taller than my 12 qt. I can hardly wait to use it for my favorite chicken soup. I now will have enough leftovers anytime I feel like having soup, especially in the winter and when someone has a cold or an allergy attack.

I bought this pot /steamer specifically to steam tamales but i've also made stock and soup. The metal is pretty thin so scorching would probably happen with thicker stews or soups but so far it's been a great purchase.
