I have bought dickies at the store and have never had a problem. The 2 "blue Jean" Dickies I bought on line were not sized as expected. The width of the thigh matched a waist 10" larger than this. They should be advertised as 'wide' fit, not 'regular' fit. I will try to sew them thinner myself...

I've been wearing these for years. Bought them retail and direct. From time-to-time I get jeans direct whose weave is coarse and vertical. For me this is a lesser looking appearance that's not my presentation. I send them back. Jeans generally are smooth in appearance, not exposing the weave.
