I've used the 25 and 40 models and have nothing but praise. I switched from all Shimano to Penn and haven't looked back. Compared to the Shimano Trinidad and Torium, there's no comparison. The Fathoms have much stronger drag and the cranking power is phenomenal.

I run cod and haddock fishing charters and am using 4 of the Fathom 15N reels loaded with 50 lb spiderwire and they have performed flawlessly. They have plenty of torque and feel great when you are winching a pound of lead and a 3-10 pound fish up from 200 feet of water.
