Some of my heavier setups, like my saltwater stuff, I was able to cast far enough that the surf did not bring my bait back to shore too quickly. That still did not seem to help my lousy luck ...

This is a real sharp pole. It looks well made, both the reel and rod. I haven't been able to take it fishing yet because it's winter here in NY. But from monkeying around with it, it seems to work like a charm. It has nice cork handles, seems pliable. Excited to get on the water and use this combo.

I like the lightweight of this Ozark Trail Rod and Reel combo. Constructed of graphite, this thing is awesome. At 7 ft long, it casts very easily and with precision. I like the cork split grip as it doesn't slip or twist in your hand. The guides are stainless steel, not cheap aluminum or plastic....
