I use this for mint juleps and to crush almonds for my ice cream sundaes. I almost bought a manual ice crusher, but I am glad I got curious about this "hammer looking thing" I didn't know existed. One of the best "kitchen gadgets" I've ever purchased. I recommend.

Who would have thought a canvas bag and a wooden mallet would be the next best thing to a fridge that crushes ice, for me!? I bought the electric ice crusher on here... it is now used to make sno cones, as it simply only shaves the ice. This here though... sure you smash the bag and its loud, but...

You can't beat crushed ice from a fridge that has a dispenser that can crush ice, but this is a close second. Gives you the option to either lightly break up the ice, or smash it into a snow-like consistency. The canvas bag dries easily. This is a must-have if you enjoy cocktails with crushed ice.
