Bardsley did an excellent job of world building. The characters are rich, the world makes sense, and she spends just enough time on the peripheral characters to inspire interest. The climax is a tad too epic but that's a minor complaint.

Abused, self-deprecating heroine, interesting world-building, neat characters. I liked this a lot. Can't wait to read more about Nevermore! probably won't check out the author's other work though, not into the chick lit-y stuff so much.
