      I ordered this set thinking it was a collections of newer REMAKES of the classic Austen films. It's not. Theses are all made in the 80s and the acting is very stilted. Not a total waste of money but not what I wanted.

      The price is great but these are by Warner Entertainment as it states so why someone is blaming the BBC for quality, etc, I don't know. My favorite versions are: For Sense and Sensability, I love the Emma Thompson, Hugh Grant, Kate Winslet version; for Pride and Prejudice -my favorite is the 19...

      I've seen the Miramax and BBC productions of Mansfield Park and Emma; in both cases, the BBC version seemed to follow the original Jane Austen book much closer with more character development and closer attention to historical details.       Just great exactly how I wanted to feel my Jane Austen Experience, after reading the books I didn't think any movie could really take those stories to real life. I recommend it 100% if you are a Jane Austen fan :)
