Well written book with documentation including diaries, letters, photos, and personal accounts from the 1930's. During the reading, thoughts of what may soon come to pass crossed my mind. None of it, however, compared to real life situations currently occuring in third world countries.

A fantastic journey through the Great Depression and the kids caught in it. By fantastic I mean engrossing. It is illustrated using photos from that time period. Photos from different parts of the country. I learned a lot. There really were "boxcar children!"
