I bought this rod specifically to use in bottom fishing. Because of the bent butt the rod extends further away from the boat than a straight butt. So far so good and I am pleased.

I bought two of these rods one with rollers, I set it up with a size 16 reel 40 lb line and the other with size 12 also with 40 lb line.. Landed 200 lb Bluefins on the 30-80 roller, and 100 Yellowfin and AJ on the other 30-80.
