Motion-sensing and plenty of light. Motion "switch" works only in low-light, so don't think it's "defective" -- the darker the closet is the better. Or, just turn it on/off manually. I just now ordered 2 more today, have 3 from earlier purchases. So for me, they've been great.

I put this item above the breaker box for my work so I can see to turn on the lights in the warehouse and it works great. I put one in 2 closets where I didn't have any lights. You walk up to the closet and the light comes on.
