It does ask for butter, I substituted for shortening to eliminate dairy too! So awesome for gluten free, as its so difficult to find something good!

I added 2 eggs & 1/4 cup canola oil because i do not buy butter and these were absolutely wonderful. I made them for my son and he barely left me any. Pricey though.
