Perfect size for what I needed. Had one square inside not line up well but was able to make it work. I'm really happy with it, it fits under ledge of island so had little room but it holds all my cookbooks

The wood is almost more like a resin, it isn't partical board. I never got the chance to assemble, as one of the parts had snapped in shipping. My shelf came with the screw holes incorrectly placed. It was impossible to assemble so that the veneer surfaces were all facing the same side. Shelves were dirty with spots of a difficult to remove glue-like substance; adhesive remover wouldn't even take it all off. Shelf heights make it unsuitable for books. Seems rather sturdy despite being particle board. Purchased for living room but demoted to guest room after seeing it put together.
