The Classique 56" Fireplace Mantel Unfinished

We just assembled and installed our new mantel. It's beautiful! We are now in the process of painting it. Will be perfect to hang the Christmas stockings from by end of the week! Ordering process was simple, even came earlier than we expected!

We removed a dated mantel shelf from the brick wall surrounding our fireplace only to discoverthat it was built into the wall. This mantel covered the resulting holes very well, and it looks great. It comes smoothly sanded and ready to finish.

Either you can stain it or paint it. We painted it white. Yes, you may want to fine sand it with a piece of sand paper (nothing else), just to make it perfectly smooth. We used two coats of primer, then two coats of semi gloss white///the same white we used on our trim in the room. It looks b...
