Tales of the City ever since I had first read them became an instant favorite. I loved the characters and it was great when Armistead Maupin returned with Michael Tolliver Lives. And then to return with Mary Ann in Autumn. After reading this I felt like I had just visited with some old friends. I...

I liked this book, but I didn't enjoy it as much as its predecessor, Michael Tolliver Lives. This story was much darker and seemed to have an underlying message that you shouldn't trust the people around you. It did make me like Mary Ann much more; the narrative really humanized her.
