Holy crap. That was definitely a book. I didn't know what exactly to expect but it wasn't all of that. It's utterly gross, utterly shocking, and utterly absorbing. It gets four stars for keeping me glued to the page no matter what which has been difficult to do recently.

It's a shame that the film version has in many ways overshadowed this excellent novel. That's not to say that he movie wasn't faithful, indeed the novel reads itself much like a screen play and many scenes are rendered still by still in accordance with the book, however I fear many will have pass...
