I purchased this item for my daughter's graduation party. It worked very well and it held about 80 hot dogs and around the same size bratwurst. Definitely gets hot but the controlling of the heat is very easy with the front dial. I would highly recommend this item.

It's all one piece the pan does not come out we returned it never thought I'd see a roaster that the pan don't come out makes it very heavy and cumbersome
