It is a quality mat with rubber back. I have it in front of the kitchen sink to protect the floor. My dogs dishes also sit on this so it absorbs her spills.

Exactly what I wanted for my main entrance door! The whole family can stand on the mat and take off shoes before stepping on the laminate floor. Easy to vacuum the dirt off, doesn't slide on the laminate floor.
