It stays in place, works great. One small piece of a corner was broken off when we received the mat, but that corner went under the desk, so okay.

My item was delivered to the wrong house. Thankfully my neighbor(way down the road)was nice enough to bring it over. The mat itself is OK. I'm using it on carpet, it does move when the chair moves, however it seems to be good quality and didn't come rolled up which was a BIG plus.
