Touch your (clean) fingertip to your tongue, touch the outer ring of the watch. Look for a small blinking heart symbol, listen for the beep, read the display. Works well for my needs. Lots of features I haven't used but can if I wish. I'm happy with the price for what I got, Site to Store was easy.
