Finished this book last night and feel bereft without it! Really loved this read, so vivid, so evocative that it has been haunting my dreams. It is as though I know these people personally, as though I have loved these children. Inspiring, harrowing, beautiful - and important. Top marks.

I was hooked from the beginning. Each chapter is so masterfully constructed that all you want to do is turn the next page. It is so beautifully and poetically written you are transported to another world, and find yourself enlightened by the journey.

Agree with all below. Love India and know it well, but learned so much from this book. Highly recommended. Should be on every travel company's standard reading list.
