I agree the picture instructions suck.. worse than Ikea. Bed is really nice once assembled. My problem with this set is the smell. I believe its the stain finish. Odor is strong and made me nauseous. Hoping it will fade soon.

Some of the steps are out of order, so you'll have to go back and forth, some are blatantly wrong (which you'll find out after), the pictures aren't very clear, sometimes a shift of view would help. It took 4 of us close to 7 hrs to put together due to mislabeled parts, damaged and incorrectly manufactured pieces(mis drilled/not drilled at all holes, mis measured pieces, damaged hinges/pieces). When purchased picture showed desk on left side. But set is made for desk to be on the right. We had to completly rearrange room - take down tv etc to make it work. Set is small.
