You really need to be a fan of the program "An Idiot Abroad" (UK) to fully appreciate this book. Karl is just as funny in print as he on the television. There are some great anecdotes that were not in the the series final cut involving the crew and various locals. Amust read for Pilkington fans!

Ha! Not a book many of you have owned up to buying! But actually it was great - Karl is funning and engaging (unlike Gervais and Merchant, who just come across as bullies). For those that don't know, it's the book of the Sky 1 TV series, where Pilkington somewhat reluctantly visits the 7 wonders ...

Doesn't add much if you have already seen the TV version but there are a few extra bits and expanded parts. However, it remains a humerous look on some of the more extreme aspects of other cultures.

I really like Stephen Merchant so I had high hopes for this book and was a bit let down. Some parts were laugh-out-loud funny, but overall it was just OK.
